Looking for a change of ride? Well look no further than Benny Boyd Auto of Bastrop, TX where you can find the ultimate thrill seeker vehicle, the 2017 Jeep Patriot. The 2017 Jeep Patriot is the last of it's kind, 2017 being the last year that Jeep offered this particular model. And it's easy to say that this crossover went out with a bang.
It may have been the Jeep Patriot's last year in production but they definitely didn't skimp on the features and choices for the final showing of the Patriot. To begin with, there are five different models to choose from: Sport, Sport SE, Sport 75th Anniversary, Latitude, and High Altitude. Granted, the Sport, SE and 75th Anniversary are just veriations on a basic model, with standard roll-up windows and air conditioning offered as an extra-cost option. The SE does add 17-inch alloy wheels and heated front seats, and the 75th Anniversary model adds bronze exterior trim and a power sunroof. While the Latitude and High Altitude offer better audio systems, upgraded interior trim, and climate control. Plus, both the Sport and Latitude models can be equipped with a Freedom Drive II Off-Road package to get you wherever your heart may desire.
There are even more choices offered in the 2017 Jeep Patriot's engine, transmission, and drivetrain departments. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 hp and 141 lb-ft of torque. Depending on the model, it can be paired with a five-speed manual or belt-drive CVT. But it can't be had with all-wheel drive. Next up is the 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a more Jeep-worthy 172 hp and 165 lb-ft. Not to be confused with the "Tigershark" 2.4-liter engine in the Renegade and Cherokee editons - this engine comes with a five-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, or a heavy-duty CVT.
The 2017 Jeep Patriot comes with six airbags: driver and front passenger airbags, front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, and front and rear side curtain airbags. This Jeep is one of the last vehicles to use rear drum brakes - on front-drive models. AWD models have four-wheel disc brakes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Patriot a four-star "Overall" safety rating. In the "Side Crash" test the Patriot rated a full five stars! The Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Jeep Patriot its top "Good" marks in all but the front overlap test. Making the 2017 Jeep Patriot not only a capable machine to get around in any condition, but one that can keep you safe while doing it!
